Chloe is a Woven Designer creating woven fabrics which are inspired by our surroundings, exploring nature and architecture to inform hand designed details and simple patterns. Photography and drawing are used to inform the creation of graphic bold motifs which I translate onto the loom and into my woven fabrics.
Chloe graduated from Norwich University of the Arts in 2017 with a First Class BA(Hons) in Textile Design. In 2018 Chloe joined DesignerMakers21 to develop her woven journey where she now creates handwoven designs and a range of home and lifestyle products.
On the loom, Chloe considers use of yarn and materials to include intense bold colour and reflect on the inspiration, while thinking about what is suitable for the final product or design. Most recently Chloe has begun exploring more sustainable choices such as Lambswool and Cotton as she explores and develops her practice further.
The style of weaving creates bespoke motif style, flat cloth which is handmade into simple luxury products. Chloe has also collaborated with Marie Mallen to create bespoke fabrics for custom tailor-made clothing. Chloe is open to commissions and opportunities to push her practice further.
